Subliminals: Magic or Science?
Page 2
How the Mind Programs Itself
Subliminals offer a sort of blueprint to the subconscious mind that if acted upon would allow you to create a game plan that although alien to your current conscious filters, would make a lot of sense to your wise subconscious mind. The “blueprint” or affirmations, don’t magically embed themselves into your subconscious and make you do things you wouldn’t choose to do anyway, they just give your subconscious mind the opportunity to see a different possibly even better, way to approach your goals. If this information were used to convince you over hours to think about things then they will give you that same aha moment you would have gotten, only the game with penetrating the conscious filters (what actually took those hours was trying to “reason” with the conscious filters, much like trying to convince a kid he doesn’t need candy once he’s already tasted it) is what’s taking so long.
Subliminals, to be truly effective have to compress a lot of wisdom into a very short sentence. In other words it has to be simple enough for the mind to comprehend it almost instantly, yet profound enough for the mind to stop and think, wait a minute, that’s it! That’s the answer! Now I know why I’ve been chasing my tail in frustration!
Imagine having a string of subliminal affirmations that triggered this reaction over and over again as if it built on your awareness brick by brick. This would be powerful enough alone to dissolve your bad conscious “habits” or filters, and design new ones. Unfortunately it needs a delivery system that is repetitious yet that doesn’t become boring, because although the subconscious mind is working on a much faster pace, the conscious filters run in stages pretty deep down. It’s like you have to get through a Chinese puzzle before you get to the subconscious mind, even with subliminals.
We employ several “delivery systems” in our music, and this works pretty effectively, it even gets you to start the process of figuring out how to use this information by bringing you into theta states where creativity flourishes, but there is one last step before this information can truly be effective, one step that no matter what we do we can’t automate for you. You have to start moving towards action. You have to see in your minds eye (one thing our affirmations help you do is see the end result of your goal, rather help you to visualize it) the end result then you must MOVE towards it.
Why Most People Give up Before they reach Success
Listening to subliminals “till your blue in the face” without any sort of movement towards what your trying to achieve, is like staring at a glass on the table and saying MOVE thinking that by some Jedi mind trick, that glass will move.
Even if the person were to start blowing towards the glass, that is an action and the glass may move, all be it even with the hardest blow an average glass will not move enough to even be perceived, but it will in fact move. If this person were to realize this and continued to blow hard at the glass given enough time the glass would be far enough from its original spot to be perceived as “moving”.
Defining True Faith
The fact that it happened so slowly (blowing on the glass to make it move) to many would be enough to say (to themselves) “it didn’t work” why don’t you give up, your wasting your time, but to the person who has faith, and trusts their gut instinct you will know, as the subconscious mind sees all if your willing to hear it’s nudge, even an unperceivable shift in the glasses position is witnessed by the subconscious mind. If you were to actually listen to those nudges you get i.e. blowing on this glass will move it, even though your conscious mind is die hard against this (because it is a lazy mind state that wants fast food results) will yield you the proof that you seek.
I believe that faith is not just something where you believe in things you can’t see like god or angels. It is about trusting your inner knowing; your subconscious minds messages built from wisdom and things that it sees thorough your collective senses, but that you don’t consciously see, that are constantly being fed to you but often blocked by the conscious filters.
The truth about the subconscious mind is that it is wiser than we give it credit for. It sees all knows all not by magic but because it pays attention to EVERYTHING, and it is always screaming at you to listen, but most people ignore it and do what their conscious filters say to do. When you get that “Intuitive” feeling not to go into someplace, it’s your subconscious, having more tangible information than you think, telling you that’s a bad idea. When you are on the freeway doing 90 and you get that nudge, a subtle thought, to slow down, it’s possible that your subconscious mind was paying attention to that cop car way up there while you were checking out the blond in the car to your right.
Our problem is that we think were paying attention, we think we have all the information but realistically, consciously, we’re working with only a fraction of the information the subconscious mind has. Would you follow a leader that knew the path well, or a leader who has an idea of the path but is “winging it”?
The subconscious mind is by no means winging anything, but the conscious mind, it is. You’ll find when you listen to your subconscious mind more, the static between the two mindsets (conscious / subconscious) becomes more networked and your life starts to go your way. You make better decisions, and the subconscious mind, your intuition is a manifestation of your subconscious mind, is NEVER wrong.
