Inner-State changes

On the High-Way of your mind

To understand how our technologies and your brain, in general, works at a surface level you need to understand brainwave states and what they are. Essentially the brainwave states are the basic states in which your brain operates. It can be likened to the seasons of our external world complete with their own actions/reactions, rules and micro as well as macro consequences.

The difference however is that these stages are not in a fixed rotation they are in constant use all day every day and in billions of chaotic combinations that generally create our moods, feelings, ability to focus, or inability to focus and more, much more.

The brainwave states can be seen as a sort of steering wheel and gas/break peddle as well for the mental direction of our internal atmosphere. Although there is a lot more going on, the brain waves "pull/push" carries a lot of weight in the brain to chemical production hierarchy. With control over your brain wave patterns, or controlling of your state changes, you can essentially control everything else; much like the CEO of a company controls everything but really just gives orders that filter down through the ranks.

The brainwave patterns control the internal world as well as the inner physical biochemical world. You may not know it but your body is fueled by a lot of chemical responses, if the brain were to all of a sudden stop dumping these chemicals (called neuro-peptides according to the movie "what the bleep do we know") we'd surely die, and possibly a horrifically painful and confused death at that. These chemicals are keeping EVERYTHING in balance.

The reason meditation is so valuable is that in meditation your thoughts are minimalized, the chaos in your thought stream is quieted and you during meditation of course choose to think about something pleasant which in turn dumps the good euphoria driven chemicals into your body. The way you feel at any given moment is truly a choice. But most of us have so many programs blocking between our conscious mind and subconscious mind that a wall, a barrier is built, so consciously choosing how you want to feel is like trying to get your car registered at the DMV.

You'd have to wait for hours then are sent to the back of a longer line... everything is in red tape when it comes to the uncontrolled mind. Ah but what if you mastered your mind? Mastered those internal states. You can think of something simple and trigger all that euphoria at will, making it easier to quiet the mind and control your states.

Everything Internal Affects Everything External

Everything internal affects everything external through our actions and reactions much like the weather outside affects whether or not we go somewhere, but we can always choose to brave the storm- same with brain states and in fact braving the storm teaches us that we can surpass our limitations and that our feelings as we know them are possibly wrong!!

All day your brainwave patterns go from alpha all the way to gamma in a sporadic pattern depending on things like external stimulus, your thoughts rather the perceived way you react to those thoughts, memories, and more. Memories for example can be triggered more lucidly in theta states.

New Stimulus Comprehension Requires Memory Probing Which to be Effective Requires Theta State Shifting

When relating to new stimulus, new sensations in any sense (visual, audible, taste etc...) are formed by the brain taking old data (memories) and mixing it with new data (the new experience) and by comparison we use logic to determine what it is. Any time you’ve ever tried to probe your memory your brain goes into theta to do this. Some people have a hard time visualizing things in their head, this is because they have a hard time shifting to theta, and they do so probably in spurts but lose it before they make sense or grab a full memory.
